The next "One Piece" movie is on its way next year. Considering the success of "One Piece Film Z," many can expect the next film to be even better. Adding to the hype, the next film is called, "Gold." Does this mean it will be based on Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King?
If so, it would be what fans have wanted for a long time. It would make sense if the film were about Roger since the last two films were about legends like Golden Lion Shiki and Zephyr.
Details of the film will be revealed in the 2016 issue of Shueisha's "Weekly Shonen Jump" magazine. The new "One Piece" film is slated for release in Japan on July 23. The original manga creator, Eiichiro Oda, will serve as the film's executive producer, just as he did with "Z." It will be directed by Hiraoki Miyamoto, who was assistant director for "One Piece: Baron Omatsuki and the Secret Island." Tsutomu Kuroiwa will be writing the script for the film.
